Joining the Scheme
You can join the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) if you are a Councillor in one of the four Councils in Lothian and under the age of 75.
Please note that if you join the Scheme, retirement benefits can only be paid when you leave your post as a Councillor and meet Scheme retirement age.
