We believe that environmental, social and governance issues can affect the financial performance of companies and that we have a responsibility to take these issues seriously and where appropriate, to act upon them.
The Fund will pursue a policy of constructive engagement with companies on issues which are consistent with the Funds' fiduciary responsibilities. Each Fund's overriding obligation is to act in the best financial interests of the members of the Funds. The Fund will collaborate with other like-minded investors to pursue company engagement.
Voting and Engagement is undertaken by Baillie Gifford and State Street on the funds which they manage on our behalf and by Hermes Equity Ownership Services on all other listed equities.
