Special Bulletin - March 2020


Unfortunately it has come to our attention that the tiered contribution guidance for 2020/21 we sent you last week contained an error in Table 2 of Annex C.  The error relates to the 5.5% band only.

The corrected version is attached and can also be found within the guides and forms folder on Go Anywhere. It will also be available on our website at www.lpf.org.uk/employers.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this and for any inconvenience that this may cause you.

Remember that each year you must assess the pay of each of your employees who is a member of the scheme against the Guidance to allocate the appropriate percentage to be deducted in respect of contributions from 1 April. You must also tell each employee in writing what their rate will be and how to appeal if they disagree with your decision.

Welcome to the special edition of ‘Employers’ Bulletin’ regarding the disclosure of pension information for your year end accounts. We value your feedback, so please get in touch employer.pensions@edinburgh.gov.uk if you’d like to share your thoughts.

Disclosure of senior officers/elected member pension details

If you require information on officer or elected member pension information for your year-end remuneration report as part of the year end accounts, please complete the form and return it via Go Anywhere no later than Friday 17 April.

The remuneration report must include certain pension information as at each 31 March in respect of their senior officers/employees and elected members and those of their subsidiary bodies. It is your responsibility to determine who is a “relevant person” under these regulations. The regulations can be seen at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2014/200/pdfs/ssi_20140200_en.pdf and a copy of the Scottish Government’s guidance on the regulations is here.

If you have any "relevant persons", complete the spreadsheet recently sent to you (or contact us and we will send you it) telling us who your “relevant persons” are include the information requested to enable us to produce the required pension calculations.

Please note that you must use separate lines for each post e.g. Returning Officer and Chief Executive and include any “relevant person” who has left service during the year. Please also indicate on the spreadsheet to whom in your organisation this information is to be returned.

In line with our charging policy, as such calculations are not required by all employers there will be a fee of £150 plus VAT per post. We will invoice you after you receive the information. We aim to send you the appropriate pension information within 2 weeks of receiving your request if all relevant information is provided.
