Diversity & Inclusion

We’re one team, but we represent many ideas, experiences and backgrounds. We value everyone’s contributions and believe that everyone should be their whole self at work. We want a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace and this will be achieved by driving a positive environment.

We recognise the many strengths and talents our diverse colleagues bring to the workplace so to make sure that LPF is as inclusive as possible for both our colleagues and members regardless of Faith, disability, age, gender, ethnicity or sexuality:

Disability confident logoIn 2019, we signed up to Disability Confident and more importantly, committed to review and improve everything we do with respect to recruitment and employment. Through Disability Confident, we’ll work to ensure that disabled people and those with long term health conditions can fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations with us as an employer

We’ve joined several organisations supporting the Scottish launch of a nationwide initiative focused on increasing diversity and inclusion in the asset management, professional services, and financial services industries

We helped launch the Scotland chapter of the Diversity Project, which aims to accelerate progress toward a more inclusive culture in the investment and savings sectors across all demographics, including gender, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, age, and disability.

We can achieve this by:

  • Treating colleagues, members, and employers the way that you would like to be treated
  • Listening and being receptive to different points of view
  • Speaking up if you see or suspect discrimination or harassment
  • Promoting a work environment free of bullying and harassment.

Wellbeing

At LPF we know that our people are our biggest asset in supporting our employers and members, so wellbeing is about helping us all bring the best of ourselves to work. Health and wellbeing at work is important to us all and we do our best to ensure we support everyone.

Our employees have access to our Employee Assistance Programme which is a free helpline, app and online support service, where they can get help and advice to carry them through any difficult situations at work, or in their personal life.

Our Policies

Here at LPF we’re passionate about pensions and our values are enduring principles that inform, inspire and instruct day-to-day behaviour. We’re all committed to making sure that everyone can bring the best of themselves to work, serve our members and employers to the best of our ability and take pride in everything we do.

Our Code of Conduct is how we do business but it’s more than that. It’s why we’re all here, who we are and how we act and think. To ensure we can all deliver the best service, we’re committed to developing our colleagues to create an inclusive and agile team that’s member-focused, flexible and responsive to new ways of working. This means taking a greater focus on digital efficiency, an even better people experience, and looking for new ways of working together across all our functions to create positive outcomes for our members.

Our policies support our colleagues in bringing the best of themselves to work and our Parent Policy, Flexible Working Policy and Annual Leave Policy contribute to that.
