Making a FOI or Data Protection Request

Data Protection requests 

The City of Edinburgh Council act as Lothian Pension Fund's administering authority and to protect any personal information held on computer, is registered under the Data Protection laws. The data controller in terms of the Data Protection laws is Lothian Pension Fund (acting through its administering authority the City of Edinburgh Council) (“LPF”) which is registered with the Information Commissioner. 

 
This allows members to check that their details held are accurate. Lothian Pension Fund may, if it chooses, pass certain details to a third party, if the third party is carrying out an administrative function of Lothian Pension Fund, for example, the AVC provider.

Members who want to apply to access their data on Data Protection Act grounds should contact the Council's Data Protection Officer via email at dataprotection@edinburgh.gov.uk or Lothian Pension Fund direct at pensions@lpf.org.uk. The Fund's privacy policy has full details of the types of data the LPF Group collects and holds, why and how we process your data, who we share it with and your rights under data protection law.  


This authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers, and, may use information for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies administering public funds solely for these purposes.
